Saurik’s Comment on TaiG iOS 8.1.1 Jailbreak

It is very interesting to look at the jailbreaking when a new version of iOS firmware released to the public. Because several individuals and teams announce that they found jailbreaking tool for the latest iOS version. But in reality very few of them will released to the public. This has not changed in this time also. The Chinese Pangu team has released the first ever jailbreak tool for iOS 8.0 and it was also compatible with iOS 8.0.1, iOS 8.0.2 and iOS 8.1 firmware versions. Best WinterBoard Themes  iOS 8

Then Apple has plugged the exploits used for Pangu8 jailbreak with iOS 8.1.1. After that iH8sn0w has claimed that he could jailbreak the latest iOS 8.1.1, and posted a video on his YouTube channel showing an untethered jailbroken iPad 3. But he has not publicly release it.

Finally TaiG team has released first ever untethered jailbreak tool named TaiGJBreak for iOS 8.1.1 in last week. And it was compatible with iOS 8.0, iOS 8.0.1, iOS 8.0.2, iOS 8.1, iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 beta versions. However they have disabled it for iOS 8.2 until Apple release iOS 8.2 to the public.

At the beginning most of iOS device owners reluctant to upgrade to iOS 8.1.1 and jailbreak with TaiG tool. Because, they have doubts on the reliability of the tool. A well-known hacker named MuscleNerd has declared that it is safe to use the TaiGJBreak tool. Apparently that means that the jailbreaking won’t install unnecessary programs on your device and it does not cause to leak the Evernote contents.

However, this was not adequate for some users and they anticipated some senior jailbreaking expert’s opinion. Jay Freeman aka Saurik, the founder of the Cydia has finally broken the silence.
He was the Godfather of jailbreaking and who runs the Cydia. Though he has some questions about TaiG Jailbreak, he has posted a comment on reddit regarding TaiG Jailbreak.

He also mentioned that this was not his specialty and he was not the best person to comment on a jailbreaking tool. His comment says that if you are satisfied with “probably safe” then you can go for TaiG Jailbreak without any hesitation. And further noted that, TaiG team provided many details on their tool and hence it will be better to read it well.
